Creative Wildlife Photography

‘‘I see the world with childlike wonder, curious,
attentive, and free to explore, try, and discover.’’

Ilse Koks is a Dutch wildlife photographer with a deep connection to the natural world. Rather than simply documenting wildlife, she approaches photography as an ongoing exploration. Through movement, light, silhouettes and unusual perspectives, she creates expressive imagery
that often balances between recognition and abstraction.

A sense of playfulness shapes her approach, allowing her to capture not only what a moment looks like, but how it feels. Through her work, she hopes to inspire people to look beyond the obvious, reconnect with nature, and see the natural world with curiosity and wonder.

Her photographs have received recognition in numerous international photography competitions and have been exhibited internationally.
In 2026, she served on the jury of Nature Photographer of the Year (NPOTY), helping to evaluate more than 27,000 photographs. She also shares her work and creative approach through talks and publications.
